Marshfield Greenhouse is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year!
Today, the majority of the plants are started from seed in the greenhouse located at 402 Maple Street. Marshfield Greenhouse and Produce are known for their heirloom tomato called the Millionaire. This variety was sold here as early as the 1940s. Dr. L.T. Melton built the original greenhouse for his wife as a hobby. Soon after, it became a business. The Millionaire tomato is still sold today as Marshfield Greenhouse's original tomato. Marshfield Greenhouse was established by the Knight family in 1962. And then Jennifer and Wesley Glenn. purchased it in 2021. "Our mission is to keep the heritage and tradition to remain the same."
The owners strive to make their greenhouse business unique and personable. Because of their interest in home vegetable gardening and food preservation, they offer information and advice for the beginner to the experienced gardener. "Our customers are loyal to this nursery and understand the importance of buying from a locally owned business." Our customers are very important to us.
